Position Overview
As a Pressure Control Assistant, you will be responsible for the (de)assembly, inspection, and pressure testing of recertified and new pressure control products. Maintaining BOPs (Blowout Preventers) and all other related equipment falls under your responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- (De)Assembly and Inspection: Perform the assembly and disassembly of pressure control equipment, including BOPs and associated components, following industry standards and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Conduct thorough inspections to verify the integrity and functionality of equipment prior to testing.
- Pressure Testing: Conduct pressure testing of recertified and new pressure control products to ensure they meet all operational and safety standards. Record and analyze test results to confirm that all equipment is functioning correctly and is fit for use.
- Preventive Maintenance: Utilize preventive maintenance sheets to schedule and execute routine maintenance tasks. Ensure all equipment is maintained in optimal condition to minimize downtime and extend operational life.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all assembly, testing, and maintenance activities, including detailed assembly and test reports. Ensure documentation complies with API standards and is readily available for audits and inspections.
- Checklists and Quality Control: Utilize comprehensive checklists to perform quality control assessments throughout the testing and maintenance processes. Ensure all tasks are completed according to established procedures and standards, and report any discrepancies or areas for improvement.
- Repair and Certification: Diagnose and repair issues with pressure control equipment as needed. Ensure that all repairs are performed to the highest standards and that equipment is certified according to API standards before returning it to service.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other team members and departments to ensure seamless operations. Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues regarding equipment status, maintenance needs, and any challenges encountered during testing and repairs.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while working in the test shop. Participate in safety training and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment for all team members.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry best practices, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to pressure control equipment. Actively seek opportunities for professional development and improvement in testing and maintenance processes.
