Introducing the New Electrically Powered Slickline Unit

Leading-edge technology is a key benefit of our recent merge with the Well Services Group in the Netherlands. The new environmentally friendly electrically driven slickline unit is one of the most outstanding examples of this. Not only is the new unit “green” for the environment, it also provides a significantly better working environment for the crews assigned to its operation.

With slickline field crews typically working in an environment where heat and noise generate a working environment that can distract attention, the new unit provides major improvements with climate control, washrooms and separate toilet. With centralized amenities like this, working conditions on site are dramatically improved and crews can perform at the highest possible level to remain fully focused on the job at hand.

The slickline unit is driven by battery power with plug-in hybrid adaptability. A back-up generator driven by the truck engine provides double redundancy. Being electrically driven, the unit produces little or no noise during operations. While this is a benefit for the crew, it is also friendlier to people and the environment while eliminating the diesel emissions that a conventionally powered system would emit.

Environmentally focused features also include a fast-fill, high-pressure test system. The water used to test is recirculated with the help of a suction system to eliminate waste. To save power, and when freewheeling into the well, the dual drum with combined slickline and e-line recharges the unit battery to extend operational autonomy.

Last but not least, the truck on which the unit is mounted has the latest emission reducing technology, and is certified to Euro 6 standards. The reduction in emissions while on the move is combined with the best noise suppression available on the market while the chassis is fitted with full air suspension.

Truly, a best-in-class example of the future of well intervention services!
